Hippothoe is a forgotten sea deity, a Nereid whose name literally means "the horsewoman of the waves". She embodies the impetus, fluidity, and free power of the feminine connected to water. This work is part of the Ocean Goddess collection, a series of illustrations inspired by sea myths, wild nature, and the deep connection between women and the ocean.

The original illustration was hand-drawn with charcoal, India ink, and seawater watercolor, collected from the beach of Blancs Sablons, in Le Conquet, Brittany. This blend of techniques creates a poetic and vibrant image, where each burst of color seems to whisper a story.
